In recent months, Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. management has become aware of a large scale scam targeted at defrauding law firms. The scam involves a call from an allegedly injured person seeking legal representation in a claim against one of any number of Sedgwick clients. The caller tells the law firm that a member of Sedgwick’s management is pressuring the claimant to settle a catastrophic claim for a nominal amount. The caller states he will come to the law office to sign an engagement letter, but needs money for transportation or other expenses. In some cases, law firms have advanced money to an account at the caller’s direction or paid for travel tickets. Sedgwick has received many calls from attorneys seeking to intervene on the non-existent claims.

The callers use the following names: "Javontae Holloway” or “Troy Williams” and other aliases. The callers are believed to call from various states and possibly even outside of the United States.
